No longer a teenager

This Friday was my eldest daughter's 20th Birthday and this is the card I made for her. I was inspired by my talented upline's Strength and Hope stamp a stack, I just loved the colour combination. I also used the same stamp set; Strength and Hope. Not only is this a beautiful and versitile stamp set but till 31 July 2011, Stampin' Up! will donate $2* from the sale of each Strength & Hope Set to BCRF.
As I mentioned befor this stamp set is very versitile

you may have notice that I changed the butterfly by snipping it through the middle then snipping a little more befor rejoining the wings.
I have also used the fillagre stamp to create a circle like frame.
I also sniped the hope from the bottom of the "H" and used it for my Happy Birthday Greeting (got that idea from Marelle too!)
The versamark has come out stronger in the photo than it was in real life :(

I was chuffed with the results of this card, I hope you like it too! Tomorrow I will show you the card I made for my niece's Birthday using the same stamp set.

Mother's Day Stall

My Daughter's school is holding a Mother's Day Stall tomorrow. It has been a rushed event this year with only one week back at school after the easter holidays to pull it all together. At last minute (yesterday) I thought I'd quickly make a few cards to go with the bigger baskets that just needed a little something for the finishing touch. This is how they started off.

But then I came to my senses now was not the time for three layers!

So I resorted to simple stamp only cards. I varied the colours to complement the gift packs the above was for the PINKS or ORANGES the wonderful mums that spent their time arranging the gifts did a fantastic job colour co-ordinating,

This was for the BLUES or GREENS

and then there was the PURPLES

and finally one for the RED or BLACKS

and last but not least a photo of some piled together

They were quick and simple but still effective, what do you think?

The card I have to show you today is using the stamp set Party Hearty! I always find masculine cards to be a little extra challenge that was until I discovered this colour combo, I have to say I love it! What do you think?

...that's if anyone still visits after my LOOOOOOOOONG absence!
Wow what a busy year I've had, so many events and it's not over yet! I think I choose the wrong year to start a blog, hopelfully next year I will be more fruitful in the blogging department!
Today I'm going to show you a card from which I was inspired by the card on page 18 of the 2009-2010 idea book & catalouge. I kept the colours the same with a different pattern paper, and changed the layout ever so slightly, the main difference was instead of using the heart punch (still on my wish list) I went for a patchwork effect and used my tag punch and then folded the pieces with a fold I learnt in my lovely upline's (Marelle) technique class this month where we used it to make a flower.
The ribbon I used was Whisper White grosgrain which I coloured Apricot Appeal using a sponge dauber. I used the stamp from the hostess set Best Yet, using my marker to ink up the word friends only; the DSP was also a level one Hostess product........time for a workshop anyone? LOL

Convention

Firstly my apologies for my blogging slackness I have serious issues with time management LOL!
I have just returned from a fantastic weekend in Canberra at the Stampin Up! Annual Convention, a fun packed weekend attending classes and workshops, meeting fellow demonstrators and building new friendships! A big congratulations to all those demos who received awards especially my wonderful upline Marelle Taylor.
I was going to show you my very few swaps for the weekend ( I ran short on time for these also!) but firstly I wanted to show you my inspiration for these.

These little numbers are 3x3 inch cards you could use Stampin Up! Love Notes and have matching envelopes. I actually like these better than my swaps but I thought I might look a little stingy swapping 3 inch cards for bigger ones? I love these because they are quick and simple but very effective the hardest part being picking your favourite colour! They would make a lovely gift compile as a set an presented in co ordinating box. Tomorrow I will show you my swaps.

Holidays....What Holidays?

Wow where do the days go? Unfortunately my computer contracted a nasty virus of some sort which totally disabled it. Now I have that fixed I am back and hopefully will be posting more than once LOL! Friday night I ran a 'Stamp a Stack' at a Friends house (Thank you Robyn), Below is one of the cards we made.

This a nice simple card to make. The background was stamped randomly onto Whisper White card using the butterflies from the 'Sprinkles' Stamp Set in Pale Plum Ink. On top of this I layered a strip of Pale Plum, then a narrower strip of chocolate chip card stock. The three flowers where stamped using the large flower from the 'Eastern Blooms' Stamp Set in Pale Plum, Perfect Plum and Kiwi Kiss Ink and cut out leaving a small white border. Best of all you can choose if you want your card portrait orientation as above or landscape like this.

Wow I never knew I could be so nervous about starting a blog, but it's an excited nervous. It has been a long time coming and is still a work in progress but it's finally off to a start... and I hope you enjoy it!

I have not had much time for stamping in the last week or two so I thought I'd show you one of my favourite cards I made for my eldest daughter's Birthday last year. I'm not as happy with the dimensions and positioning second time round but I could not place my hands on the original (try finding anything in a 17yr old girl's room!). I'm so glad that these sets are not retiring as they are two of my favourites...... is there a limit to how many favourites a person can have? I'm really going to miss the In Colour Purely Pomegranate, but I'm also looking forward to lots of fun with the in colours!

This is quite a simple card with the black and white contrast doing all the hard work. The only tricky bit is cutting out the butterfly whilst trying not to bend it's antennae and deciding how to arrange the flower petals.
